Hi,

I've had an opportunity to go back to my Reserve unit, again... I'm not sure if I should, although I want to. I'm forty-three years old now and been out for four years on and off alongside a personal uphill battle. I just don't want to let people down... Advice needed if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Anonymous Veteran.

Ask yourself why you are considering it. If it's as a source of income, so that you can achieve other things in the rest of your life, fair enough.

However, you won't let your unit down, nor those in it if you don't; units are dynamic groups that change near constantly. Do what is best for you. Don't undermine to uphill struggle you alluded to. You can serve and aid your colleagues as a civilian every bit as well as you did when you were in, working with the veteran community.

Do what helps you grow and use your resources where they are most effective.
